Adrenergic drugs and blockade on coronary arterioles and myocardial contraction.

چکیده
The 3 adrenergic substances, epinephrine, levarterenol and isopropylarterenol, were injected into a coronary artery of anestlietized dogs while recording the coronary artery flow (electromagnetic meter) and pi'cssurc. The effects of these substances on the peripheral coronary pressure (PCP) were recorded by occluding the flow proximal to the pressure gage. All 3 substances caused a qualitatively similar increase in myocardial contraction and dilation of the coronary arterioles.

The renin-angiotensin system and coronary vasomotion.
0.5 Coronary vasomotion, which controls myocardial perfusion, is closely regulated by myocardial metabolic demand and has been assessed by changes of coronary vascular resistance. Only two decades ago evidence of neural and hormonal control overriding the metabolic control of coronary arterioles, which represent the "resistance vessels" was reported (fig 1). Numerous groups reported persistence...
متن کاملReflex alpha-adrenergic coronary vasoconstriction during hindlimb static exercise in dogs.
We studied 18 alpha-chloralose-anesthetized dogs to determine if alpha-adrenergic coronary vasoconstriction occurs with hindlimb static exercise. Exercise was elicited by spinal cord ventral nerve root stimulation. Regional coronary blood flow was determined by the radioactive microsphere method. Animals were studied under four experimental conditions: control rest and static exercise, rest and...

متن کاملIntracoronary o^-Adrenergic Receptor Blockade Attenuates Ischemia in Conscious Dogs During Exercise
Studies on the role of a-adrenergic constrictor tone in the coronary vascular bed during ischemia were performed in dogs running on a treadmill. The animals were instrumented with a left ventricular pressure transducer, and regional systolic wall thickening (%WTh) was assessed by sonomicrometry in the anterior and posterior walls of the left ventricle. An intracoronary catheter was implanted ch...
متن کاملHeterogeneous microvascular coronary alpha-adrenergic vasoconstriction.
We tested the hypothesis that humoral or neurogenic alpha-adrenergic activation in the coronary circulation would produce heterogeneous vascular reactions. To accomplish this, the epicardial coronary microcirculation was viewed through an intravital microscope using stroboscopic epi-illumination. Microvascular diameters were measured under control conditions during beta-adrenergic blockade (pro...
